Running with the wrong crowd

The Fayetteville area seems a much more violent place than Raleigh. They always seem to be shooting each other down there.
He is accused of shooting a person in the “lower extremities.”

Is it so hard for the gun grabbers to understand that crime is caused by criminals, not by law abiding citizens with guns? They aren’t law abiding “right up until they pull the trigger,” they have criminal records.  And their victims tend to be the same criminals that the killers are.

Even in Australia, people who break one law generally break several.

He got into a fight with the bouncers and pulled a knife on them. They chucked him out and he waved a gun at them as he drove away. Was he just the typical licensed gun owner in Australia who got sauced up and reverted to type?

Wow. If even random jerks in a bar have guns in their cars, what good did all the gun control in Australia actually do? It seems to have only disarmed the decent folks. Was that the plan all along?

Update on “The gun grabbers were right” post

This morning I posted about a terrible multiple murder in Fayetteville.
Now we know a tiny bit more about the other two murder victims.

This is the photo published in this story, containing the 911 calls and the police radio recording from the incident.  Here’s the caption.
The sharp eyed among you will have noted that these photos were not produced by the staff at Glamour Shots. These are all mug shots. That means that the Victims 2 and 3, though not in the NC Department of Corrections database, at least had arrest records. Now it appears that everyone involved in this story was likely on the wrong side of the law.
To give you an idea of how depraved this crime really was, this is how it was described in another Fayetteville Observer story.
No doubt that the gun grabbers will accuse the gun of the crime instead of rightly blaming the violent felon.
And people wonder why I carry a gun.

PS.  Some of you are wondering why I redact all the names and refer to the people as (Suspect) and (Victim 1) (Victim 2) and so on. The reason for this is that I don’t want people involved in a crime to be able to find me via Google. People frequently Google their own name. I imagine that if I was involved in a self-defense shooting I would do the same to see what people were saying about it. I’ve had a person contact me after I posted a story about him. I would prefer not to have that happen again.

The gun grabbers were right, victims generally know their killers

In Fayetteville, police have shot and captured the suspect in a triple homicide. He ran from the cops and then tried to shoot at them. They shot him and now he’s charged with the murders. The murders don’t appear to be a home invasion/robbery. They appear to be personal.
So the gun grabbers are correct, at least on this point. Victims and killers tend to know each other.
Neither of the other two murder victims appear to have convictions here in North Carolina.
The method seems particularly horrendous
The Charlotte Observer adds this gruesome detail.
So this felon, who just got out of prison in July after being in prison since 1987 got a gun and a knife and murdered three people and apparently tried to murder two more. Of the 5 victims, 3 had criminal records.
Can anyone explain to me how “just one more law” would have prevented this?
The gun grabbers like to tout the statistic that X percentage of victims know their killers. They try to pretend that this means that the victims are murdered by their own families. They try to convince you that you should be terrified of your family members, friends, and neighbors who have guns. They fail to point out to you that felons also have family, friends, and neighbors.
Lying by omission is still lying.

Meanwhile in Rebecca Peter’s Paradise: Wrong House edition

If guns and ammo were tough to come by, wouldn’t you think that people would be more careful to only use them on the right people?
Cops say that they had never had any trouble at the house. They are apparently the proverbial “good people” in a “good neighborhood,” but they got sprayed with gunfire anyway.
Kind of makes a mockery of the idea that gun control will stop crime, doesn’t it?

Doesn’t he know that felons can’t have guns?

Here’s more proof that drugs can make you do massively stupid things.
Apparently, to fund his drug habit, this guy liked to steal from others.
His latest escapades were at least 6 hotel robberies.
So we have a felon in possession, robbing hotels. Can someone please explain to me how one more law would have prevented this?
I think that it is time to accept that criminals are criminals, and writing laws that only affect the law abiding isn’t going to change that.

If you can’t legally purchase a pistol in (Formerly Great) Britain, how can you get a MAC 10?
Somehow, I doubt that these three ladies borrowed this gun from the SAS.
There’s a great quote from the Greater Manchester Police’s gun unit
Gun free streets? You can’t even achieve gun free playgrounds or gun free underneath the beds much less gun free streets. Any honest person would rather join Sisyphus pushing a rock up a hill in Hades rather than try to make anywhere gun free. Pushing the rock up a hill would be an easier job.

What I did on my Thanksgiving Weekend

It was a long drive, but ultimately worth it. My wife and I spent this Thanksgiving with my mom and dad. We drove up Wednesday and we got back tonight. It’s always good to see the parents. I got a little of mom’s home cooking, which is nice. My wife can cook. If you look at my waistline, you know that my wife isn’t starving me. But there’s something special about those little things that only mom makes. I had a meatball sandwich with homemade meatballs, homemade sauce, and homemade bread. I think that the only thing that wasn’t homemade about that meal was the plate that she served it on.
While I was visiting I loaded almost 2000 rounds of .45ACP, and 100 rounds of .243 Winchester. Dad and I shared the .45ACP, but the .243WIN is all mine. I need to find a place to shoot it. Anyone in the Raleigh area have a place I can shoot at 200 yards or more without paying an arm and a leg for the privilege?

Thanksgiving murder

While most of us had spent the day eating too much food while hanging out with our families, two people decided to kill another. Was it a terrible family dispute over the cranberries?
I’ve been saying for a while that people should stay away from drugs. It seems that most murders are drug related in some way or another.

I couldn’t find a record for Suspect 2, but there’s a good reason for that.

Since he’s from SC, there’s no way for me to check his record.

Stay away from drugs.
