Another Raleigh murder, with three in custody

Given how often the killers end up caught right away, you can’t help but wonder how they think that they are going to get away with it. Maybe that’s another thing that separates criminals from honest people. Honest people recognize that they will likely get caught. Crooks don’t think that far ahead.
The victim doesn’t appear to have a criminal record. The suspects?
So, you combine a total lack of empathy with an inability to accurately predict the likely consequences of your behavior, stir in others just like you, and you end up with killers.
Don’t worry. This, like every other proof that murderers are nothing like you and me, will not dent the belief of the anti-gunners that we honest people are the root of all gun crime.

Because handguns are completely banned and other guns are subject to incredibly complex regulation in the UK, we know that this can’t possibly have happened.
Because if that happened in a place where it was next to impossible to get a gun legally, then that means that gun control is an utter failure.
It must have been a mass delusion.

The cops in Australia are going all out to stop the gang shootings in Sydney, but they are coming up empty. They’ve seized a few guns, but haven’t stopped the problem.

The cops realize that they are powerless to stop a determined person from murdering another. Yet they persist in demanding that ordinary Australians be disarmed and at the mercy of their attackers. They can’t stop the shootings, but they don’t want ordinary citizens to stop them either.
That’s the scenario that our gun grabbers want to import. That’s the life they want for you to have to endure. They aren’t anti-gun, they are pro-criminal.

The promise of gun control is that it will somehow magically reduce crime. No guns = No Crime. Or at least no gun crime. Somehow I don’t think it’s working in (Formerly Great) Britain.
His girlfriend and young daughter were in the house.
With this, and many other proofs of the impotence of gun ban legislation, how can anyone with a brain claim that banning guns will bring peace and a reduction in crime?

Grass Roots North Carolina takes on Bank of (Un)America

Bank of America is headquartered in Charlotte, NC. That sort of makes them our problem. By now you will all have heard that BofA decided to dump McMillan Firearms because they don’t want to loan money to gun companies.
This is Grass Roots North Carolina’s response.
Go to their website to see what YOU can do to see that things like this stop. There are names, phone numbers, and email addresses. I contributed the Twitter link. We need to put a stop to companies thinking that they can discriminate against our civil rights. Even if you don’t live in North Carolina, feel free to use the email and phone numbers to express your displeasure. Don’t tell the Bank Teller, they don’t make policy. Tell the corporate office.

Apparently both the criminals and the newspaper are economizing. Rather than treat a shooting with the reverence due to a rare occasion, they are just lumping them all together.

The papers are calling this and another shooting “Kneecappings.” Good thing there is so much gun control. If there weren’t, the citizens could arm themselves and fight back.
We can’t have that. It’s just not done!

Probation for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury

Who knows what really happened, but the woman in question denies being kidnapped.
They ran from cops and were arrested, the driver for speeding to elude, and the passenger for outstanding warrants on parole violations.
I think they missed the real story here.
Look carefully at Suspect 2’s record. He was convicted of Class E felony “Assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury” in February of last year. For this VERY serious felony, he received a sentence of 36 months of probation.

Now I don’t know what he did, specifically, but I will say that pulling out a knife and slashing another person, without any intention to kill them, is AWDWISI. The NC justice system thinks that 36 months of having an occasional talk with a counselor constitutes punishment, and this guy couldn’t even handle that!

And people wonder why I carry a gun.

No arrests yet

The “investigation continues,” in an incident in Buncombe County (Asheville, NC area) where a man got stabbed in the neck by his father.

How strange.

Dad spent some time in prison for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, and the son had a low level DWI. Deputies have not yet decided what happened, but it does go to show once again that people who stab and get stabbed tend to have prior records.

Oh, yeah. Because they are father and son, it goes down in the books as Domestic Violence. You may be sure that this will come back later as further evidence that men are unsafe and unfit to be allowed to have weapons. They will ignore the prior records and ignore that no women were attacked. The anti-male and anti-gun forces are nothing if not predictable in these sorts of things.

UPDATE: In comments, John Richardson points us to a video update of this case. Looks like the son tried to rob his wheelchair bound father for drug money and got stabbed. Pops shot him 4 years ago but the charges were dropped. No word on how a felon got away with having a gun.

Cocaine is a hell of a drug

It sounds like something out of a bad movie. A van rolls up next to a car and after the gunfire both a man and his daughter a seriously wounded
It’s comforting to know that with all their gun control in the UK that such things can’t happen. Except when they do. Maybe if they get MORE draconian, they will finally succeed in stamping out crime the same way that they’ve succeeded in stamping out illegal drugs.
