Meanwhile in Sarah Brady Paradise: Sons Protect Mom edition

So where do these guns keep coming from?
It’s a fair bet that they aren’t coming from American gun shows. It’s a bit of a drive from Manchester to the USA.
If only mom could have carried something that she could use to handle idiots who say “get the gun” when confronted with a 58 year old woman who won’t give up easily.

Just a couple of kids out for the evening?

It’s Gun Violence™ against a cop this time. But despite reality, you can expect that the gun grabbers will pretend that it’s our fault as gun owners that this happened.
He shot at the cop, the cop shot twice, hit twice, and captured the fleeing suspect. Nice shooting, that.
I can’t find Suspect 4 in the database, but the story makes clear that he was not an innocent babe caught with the wrong crowd.
Long time criminals, apparently except for the 17 year old female, who might be a juvenile criminal, with sealed records.
Nice job, mommy!
They’ve been through the system before, and not dealt with at the time. Maybe they will get what they deserve this time.
I can dream, can’t I?

Meanwhile in Sarah Brady Paradise: Jammed Three Times edition

So two guys with a gun jump over a wall and stick a gun in the face of a random stranger.
That’s Londonderry, Northern Ireland, UK. You know, the UK which bans all handguns?
Doesn’t seem to work well, does it?

Contempt: Show yours

Attorney General Eric Holder has been voted in contempt of Congress.
Who knows what’s going to happen now. I keep hoping there will be a great big ugly trial, ending with his extradition to Mexico for his crimes. Here’s the perfect shirt to wear during that trial.

Order yours now!

Meanwhile in Sarah Brady Paradise: A Targeted Attack edition

At least it wasn’t random. Everyone can go back to pretending that everything is fine because it wasn’t just some random crazy shooting people.
So riddle me this, Batman. If handguns are banned, and everything else is next to impossible to get legally, how did this happen?
It’s almost like gun control is a failure.

Meanwhile in Sarah Brady Paradise: Gun Control Doesn’t Make it Taste any Better edition

One would, if one was completely unfamiliar with the reality of criminal behavior, think that banning guns would make them less common in crime. Not so.
They invaded her home and stuck a gun in her mouth.
Ask her how well gun control works, I dare you.

Meanwhile in Sarah Brady Paradise: With Intent to Endanger Life

So how is gun control working in Northern Ireland?
Splendidly.
Now if they could only get the criminals to follow the law as well as the law abiding people do.

Meanwhile in Sarah Brady Paradise: A Man Does What He Must edition

Sixteen is a bit young to have the responsibilities of manhood thrust upon you, but one young man was apparently up to the challenge. It now appears that he will survive.
The story is that two armed men broke into the his uncle’s house. They attacked his uncle and his grandmother, who was also there.
He apparently tried to protect his Gran with guts and drive. Now if only his uncle had been permitted to own something that would make a 16 year old boy and a 70 year old grandmother the fighting equal of two armed criminals in their 20’s. Something that said “Colt,” or “Smith and Wesson,” or “Mossberg” on the side.
This is the real face of gun control. It doesn’t actually control guns, and it certainly doesn’t control the sort of thugs who would beat up a 70 year old granny, a 44 year old man, and his 16 year old nephew.

Manolo gives Utilikilt wearers some advice they should heed

I’ve worn a kilt. I am a member of a historical re-enactment organization, I am half Scottish (on my mother’s side) and I’m not a bit afraid to “not-so-surreptitiously air [my] junk out in public.” However, I think Utilikilts are about as stupid as can be.
Via Insty, we find that Manolo feels the same way.
I’ve worn the military uniforms of two US services. I’ve worn reproduction medieval armor. I’ve worn every type of medieval and renaissance men’s clothing from Viking to Elizabethan. I’m planning a steampunk Pinkerton Detective outfit based upon the clothes worn by Wyatt Earp in Tombstone. So don’t tell me that I’m just too chicken to wear something “unconventional.”
Utilikilts are just silly looking. Get a real kilt, or just go home.

What do you have to do to get jail time in this State?

Here’s another case of  the official story misses the actual story.
I know that a dead guy after a shooting sounds like the story, but trust me it isn’t.
Look at his one criminal conviction. He was convicted in November of last year for “Discharging a firearm into an occupied property, causing serious injury,” a Class E felony. According to the structured sentencing guidelines (PDF) he was supposed to get 20-25 months in prison for a first offense of this magnitude. That sentence could be increased to 25-31 months or mitigated to 15-20 depending upon the circumstances of the crime.
Read the criminal record again and see that what he actually got was 36 months on probation.
The real story here is that pretty much no matter what criminals do, they don’t get punished in this state.
