Ramming a patrol car

Here’s a tip. Trying to ram a police officer’s car during a chase is assault with a deadly weapon in pretty much every jurisdiction. Here in North Carolina, the cops will shoot you for doing it and no one will argue with them.

A Woodfin police officer shot and wounded a suspect early Sunday following a vehicle chase that ended when the driver rammed a patrol car.

Here’s my question. Since getting a traffic ticket isn’t such a big deal that you might try to kill someone to get out of it, what caused this guy to try to run from police in the first place?

The suspect was transported to Mission Hospital and is in stable condition, Holloman said. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

So he’ll get another chance to ride the justice system, and they’ll just let him out later to cause us trouble.
