A sick and twisted crime.
(Suspect), they charged in arrest warrants, punched the woman, identified only as being older than 18, in the face with his fist and put her in a choke hold that kept her from breathing for a few seconds. While keeping her against her will, they wrote, he committed second-degree sexual offense three times, attempted to do so a fourth time and tried to commit second-degree rape.
By NC law, rape is forcible vaginal intercourse. Any other sexual assault by force would be second degree sexual offense. Second degree, in this case, means that he did not have a deadly weapon such as a knife or gun.

He has a long history of violence, including violence towards women.
