Don’t bring a car to a knife fight?

It’s hard to say who, if anyone, was right in this situation.

Two Raleigh men were arrested on assault charges Friday for attacking each other.

(Suspect 1), 27, of 8208 Merriweather Circle, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury. Police say he stabbed (Suspect 2), 24, of 3134 Hayling Drive, with a knife.

(Suspect 2), was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Police say he hit (Suspect 1) with a motor vehicle.

There are other charges from an earlier incident, plus a recitation of all of Suspect 1′s prior arrests in the last couple of years.

This sounds like a classic case of Kissinger’s “It’s a pity both sides can’t lose.” Since they are both in jail, perhaps they have.
