Police identify suspect in New Year’s Day Chapel Hill shooting

What is it with criminals trying to get the New Year started with a bang?

Police are looking for a Durham man charged Friday in a New Year’s Day shooting outside Time-Out restaurant on West Franklin Street.

(Suspect), 21, whose last known address was 5102 Long Leaf Drive, Durham, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and discharging a firearm within the town limits, police said in a news release.

They’ve also identified two others wanted “for questioning.” Since the original story says that there were three suspects, I’m going out on a limb and calling them suspects as well.

Suspect 1

Suspect 2

Suspect 3

So I guess that means it wasn’t a law-abiding citizen who “suddenly snapped.” Imagine my surprise.
