After a little internet argy bargy Primary Weapons Systems confirms that they will be joining the New York Boycott.
There is a small but vocal crowd that seeks to further divide this nation instead of lead it. Unfortunately, they control the Whitehouse right now……but that will pass. The last thing a conservative response should be is too cleave and divide ourselves even further from all Americans instead of working together as a united people.
PWS will always defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, both foreign AND domestic. As a company, we value our customers and do indeed understand that the civilian market is our bread and butter. The law enforcement officers that we support are our friends, and they have taken the same Oath of Enlistment that I have and through many discussions I have had with them on this topic, they will not bow to tyrannical government and nor will we.
We will not support agencies that wish to weaken or destroy the rights we are granted from the 2nd Amendment, but we will do everything we can to support the ones that will stand and fight with us to ensure our freedoms remain. THAT is the stance of PWS.
The wrangling occurred when people took this statement to mean that they would continue, a la Armalite, to sell to individual officers. PWS, in an email directly to me, said that they will not be doing that.
Hello Mr. Sorrentino,
We will sell our firearms to any civilian/individual officer in any state where they are legal to own. If a civilian cannot buy it, then neither can an individual LEO, that’s the law as it currently stands.
We will not supply or support agencies that wish to weaken or destroy the rights we are granted from the 2nd Amendment, but we will do everything we can to support the ones that will stand and fight with us to ensure our freedoms remain.
That is the stance of PWS and it is on our Facebook page as part of a larger statement. I hope this helps and thank you for contacting us.
PWS Customer Service
Thank you Primary Weapons Systems. You have been added to the New York Boycott list.
This brings up a vital point we need to cover. When you are contacting your favorite firearm manufacturers and ammo producers, please follow Wheaton’s Law. We are ASKING firearms manufacturers to join us. Once we have an industry wide boycott, we can consider taking action against the hard cases, but don’t start the negotiation by being a jerk. PWS was a bit put out that they were approached with a “do what we say or else!” attitude. I can’t say I blame them. We need to save that energy for the people who really deserve it.
We nearly destroyed Smith and Wesson by boycotting them. Everyone in the industry knows that. Armalite might end up being reminded the hard way. That’s the stick we hold over the arms manufacturers. We don’t need to spend too much time waving that stick at the people we could get on our side just by asking.
