Murder in north Raleigh

Cops have three in custody after discovering a man shot dead in his car in an apartment complex in north Raleigh.

The yellow caution tape that usually cordons off a crime scene was gone Tuesday afternoon at a North Raleigh apartment complex where hours earlier police found a 19-year-old Harnett County man shot to death inside a car.

The newspaper even does a bit of journalism for a change.

All three suspects have criminal records that show convictions for felony larceny and breaking and entering, state records show.

That’s sure true.

Suspect 1

Suspect 2

Suspect 3

The victim knew the three suspects, according to the story. What’s unclear is how Suspect 1 ended up getting shot. Did the victim shoot him? The story doesn’t say.

Police took (Suspect 1) into custody at Duke Health Raleigh, where he was seeking treatment for a gunshot wound to his shoulder, Sughrue said. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Unfortunately it wasn’t to his head.
