Why is far Leftist “Progress Ohio” running a fake Chardon school shooting memorial website?

Ladd Everitt and his band of far leftist anti-gunners have been spamming Twitter with exhortations to “leave a note of support” at what appears to be some sort of memorial website “RememberingChardon.com.” Prompted by a tweet from @spartywrx, I decided to Whois the website. Here’s what I found.
So the owner of Remembering Chardon is Progress Ohio. Like pretty much anything with the word “progress” in the name (except for Progress Energy) Progress Ohio is just another astroturfed far left organization. Read their website and see what amounts to a laundry list of Leftist causes.
So why is an extreme leftist (albeit one that tries to appear “responsible” rather than violent) website running a “Memorial” website for a school shooting? I think it’s just a way to collect emails to add to their mailing list. The Left as a group is anti-gun. The leader of CSGV, Josh Horwitz, wrote in his book that guns were a threat to Progressive politics.
While we try to believe that the various leftist groups out there are independent, the reality is that they are just one big group. A political hydra with many heads in many issues. The anti-gun lobby is just one face of a much larger group.
Feel free to use the number and the email address and ask Bret Thompson of Progress Ohio just what the heck he thinks he’s doing with his fake memorial website. If you want a real memorial, go here.

Murderer comes from criminal family?

If there is one article of faith around this blog it could be summed up in the following phrase,
Leopards don’t change their spots
This works both ways. Obviously I believe that those who have proven that they are on the wrong side of the law are extremely unlikely to suddenly decide to walk the straight and narrow. The other side is that those who are law abiding as a matter of habit will not suddenly turn into monsters. That was the whole point of my “felons behaving badly” category. The anti-gunners are always pretending that people like you and me are going to “snap” and murder people with our “loaded, hidden firearms.”
So what are we to make of the school shooter* in Chardon yesterday? A young man from a good family, with a bright future and all the prospects in the world? Umm, maybe not.
Even his mom got into the act
He even had a criminal past
And he wasn’t actually a student at the school he shot up.
According to the interviews being conducted, the people he shot up were students waiting to take the bus to that “alternative” school. We should be clear that “alternative” does not mean “magnet.” Alternative is the more PC way of saying “Reform School.”
The thing that’s pissing me off about all the chatter on Twitter (I’ll rant about Twitter later) is that people keep popping off about “bullying.” Let me go on record now with my armchair diagnosis. The shooter is a psychopath. Not a crazed axe murderer blibbering about voices in his head movie-type psychopath, but a real, walking, talking, DSM diagnosable psychopath. I think he’s no different than the other famous psychopath school shooter who everyone pretended was a bullying victim. There is some speculation that he shot one guy after his ex-girlfriend started dating the new guy. This is the sort of behavior a psychopath would think made sense. We’ll have to wait and see, but keep in mind. Sometimes people are outcasts and loners because they are so damaged that no one in their right minds wants to be friends with them. Remember who the above linked psychopath’s friend was, a depressive, revenge minded teen.
I think that in the end we will find that this murderer is another of those severely damaged people who grew up without a conscience. I think we’ll find that he sees others as objects to be used in any way he sees fit. I think that in his mind, killing people that refused to give him his way made sense. And worst of all, once everyone starts telling about him, the problem will look so obvious that we’ll all wonder why no one did anything before this point.
* I have a policy of not naming people like this. They generally want fame, and I plan on denying them their infamy. Let them die in obscurity.

Attention Sevier County jurors!

Please read this story.

Now consider two things. First, how is a 50 year old woman going to protect herself against criminal assault by high school teens from a bad neighborhood? Second, is it moral to deny this woman a fighting chance at self defense?

Your solution is clear. Jury Nullification.

All you have to do is vote “Not Guilty.” You know she did it. You just need to tell everyone that you don’t think it should be a crime to defend yourself.

Why do we even have laws?

Remember the thug who brought an AK pattern rifle to Eastern Carolina University campus? He got shot by the cops when he wouldn’t drop it?
Had you or I brought a gun to a college campus we’d be buried under the jail. They’d make an example out of us so big that the astronauts at President Gingrich’s Moonbase would be able to see us.
As a reminder, he not only had the gun, he pointed it at campus police.
And all he gets is 60 days.

What, him? Naw, not him!

Wake Tech got locked down again for a “gun on campus.” This time it was the main campus. Last time Wake Technical Community College got locked down it was the North Campus, because someone called 911 saying that a guy in camo with a rifle had gone into the woods near the school. During hunting season.
I assumed that it was another exercise in WTF’ery, but this time it was different,
So toolhead calls his (presumably) girlfriend and threatens some unspecified action involving a gun toward her. Naturally, said girlfriend goes to the campus police, reports the threat and they take what seems to me to be reasonably appropriate action. Luckily
What sort of person threatens a domestic assault with a gun against another person?
You really didn’t think that an otherwise perfectly reasonable law abiding citizen would be at home, stewing over some domestic disagreement, and would suddenly decide that making threats with a gun is a good plan, do you? Apparently he’s now graduated from misdemeanor running a drug house to making criminal domestic threats.

So how many times are they planning on locking down campuses by mistake?

How does this work, exactly? Someone sees what they think is a gun, and they lock down whatever schools are the closest?
They locked down Wake Tech over a man wearing camouflage going into the woods during deer hunting season, and now they’ve locked down ECU over a guy with an umbrella. Maybe they should just let the students and staff carry pistols. They would have a fighting chance against a gunman, and they wouldn’t have to shut the school down every time it rains.
But then they wouldn’t have the pleasure of scaring the students to death over the specter of a gun on campus.

It’s a good thing that guns are banned on college campuses

Imagine how bad things would be if we didn’t ban guns on college campuses here in North Carolina. There might be robberies at NC State
And on Duke University
And at Fayetteville State University
That cute little “No Guns Allowed” sign placed on the edge of college campuses isn’t much of a deterrent to armed criminals. It just tells them that their intended victims will be disarmed for their convenience.

A monumental overreaction or a way to teach fear of guns?

It’s the middle of the rut here in North Carolina. It’s deer season, rifle season opened almost a month ago. So what would you think if you saw a person dressed in camouflage, in the woods, carrying a rifle?

If you are a gun grabber or one of those radical anti-hunters, how cool is this? You pick up the phone and tell 911 that there is an armed gunman, near a school!!!!
They never found anyone, but they sure did scare the crap out of a bunch of kids in the elementary schools and the students at the local Community College. How long until we have some jerk trying to pass a law making it illegal to shoot Bambi within some arbitrary distance from someone reading a book?

Good thing guns are banned on campus!

Guns are banned on all “Educational Properties*” here in North Carolina. That includes colleges and universities. So will someone please explain how this happened.
The victim didn’t give up without a fight.
Good for her. What I want to know is, what possessed the thief to walk past all those No Guns signs? I mean, doesn’t he know that’s a crime?
*Educational property. – Any school building or bus, school campus, grounds, recreational area, athletic field, or other property owned, used, or operated by any board of education or school board of trustees, or directors for the administration of any school.
