The robbery victim is walking and talking, with a hole in his hand for his trouble. The robber sustained life threatening injuries. His buddy fled, but I would bet that the CMPD will have him in custody soon.
This is how all robberies should be punished. If you try to rob someone, you should get shot. Now all we have to do is get a gun for the would be victim. He shouldn’t be reduced to trying to borrow his attacker’s gun.
So this guy was married to the teen’s mother and was beating her so severely that the teen feared death or serious bodily injury to his mom. What sort of person would treat his wife this way?
When momma’s got a gun and her two daughters can quickly lay their hands on a butcher knife and an axe, you’ve become the very definition of “failure in the victim selection process.”
And the daughters didn’t even have to swing the axe.

Update: It occurs to me that there are people in the world who would call this woman and her daughters “paranoid” for having a gun, knife, and an axe close to hand in the event of a home invasion. The anti self-defense crowd would insist that she quit living in fear. They don’t care if she and her daughters were raped, robbed, and murdered. They are perfectly willing to sacrifice this family to live in a world without legally owned weapons.
I think I’d have loaded her into a stretcher and gotten her to the hospital as fast as the two nearest donkeys could drag her. Cause of death: Slow Donkeys.
The moral of the story is don’t rob people. They might be baring arms.
I’ve updated my post on the armed robber who was shot by a concealed carrier in a convenience store which was posted against concealed carry.
Cops have identified the robber as a multiple felon. Our Hero will not face any charges. One shot was fired. Robber is currently in the hospital in serious condition with a bullet in the head.
The people who use check cashing places do not have other options. They’d probably use a bank and have direct deposit if they could. Taking money from their hands is probably taking all the money that they have, and they are likely to react poorly.
The story does not say that Suspect 1 was taken to the hospital for severe injuries, which tells me that the pack didn’t beat him senseless. While I have a certain sympathy for beating robbers to within an inch of their lives, it is probably best that they turned him over to the proper authorities.
It’s unfortunate that the suspect survived, because it’s apparent that this was not a sudden change in his life but rather a continuation of his previous criminal ways
