Handguns are banned in (Formerly Great) Britain, so naturally this shopkeeper knew that the “gun” being pointed at him was just a replica.
In the footage, hooded Buckley can be seen pointing a gun at Mr Rahulan before the gun is snatched from his hand and he is then wrestled to the ground with the help of a customer in the shop.
Buckley also admitted handling an imitation weapon and was remanded in custody when he appeared in court.
You see, if guns were REALLY banned in (Formerly Great) Britain, you wouldn’t be able to use a replica to rob a store. If it was possible to actually get rid of all the guns, everyone would know that your “gun” was just a toy. The shopkeeper here had no idea what he was facing, but he reasonably assumed that the gun was real. He had to because he knew that “Banned” does not equal “Eliminated.” It just means that the law abiding don’t have them.
