The gun grabbers and other Gun Fearing Weenies are always going on about how the possession of a weapon will make a simple argument into a deadly encounter. When we were pushing for a repeal of gun bans in parks, the GFWs came out of the woodwork to tell us that “tensions run high” on ballfields, so we need to ban guns.
The scene at a small-town T-ball game in Johnston County suddenly erupted into chaos Tuesday night when a man attacked his girlfriend with a knife, an eyewitness said Wednesday.
“People were running around saying, ‘Call 911!’, saying, ‘Get the children back. Everybody get back,’ and my heart just kind of dropped,” said Caleb Gregory, who sells concessions at the baseball field.
The field is at Meadow Elementary School and the children playing T-ball were 4 and 5 years old. No children were hurt.
A Johnston County Sheriff’s Office spokesman said (Suspect), 23, was arguing with his girlfriend, (Victim), when he attacked her, stabbing her several times in the neck. Several parents wrestled Basker to the ground and held him until authorities arrived.
No doubt the GFWs are feeling mighty smug right now. They think that they were proven correct. They will jump up and down shouting to the heavens that it’s a good thing that the suspect didn’t have a gun. They won’t bother to look any further.
That’s right, they were both felons, meaning that neither of them were allowed to have a gun, much less the required CHP to carry it. It also meant that none of the “several parents” were armed. Would the GFWs have been happy had those parents gotten stabbed? The “No Guns Allowed” signs don’t stop crime. They only make it impossible for the law abiding to defend themselves.
People who stab others as a method of finishing a domestic argument generally have previous records. Someone needs to explain to me why the actions of known criminals should cause me to lose my rights.
