Indecent liberties

There’s a certain disgust we have towards those who prey on children.

A Raleigh man is accused of taking indecent liberties with a child.

The reported victim was under the age of 16, according to the warrant. The offense was reported to have occurred between Dec. 30 and last Sunday.

Twenty-nine years old and he was messing with someone under 16

Suspect

Fifteen will get you twenty. I’d be willing to allow a reduction in sentence in exchange for 20 minutes with the child’s parents or other responsible party.

Elliot Fineman wants ME!

Five days ago I received this handsome offer from the email account of Martha Rosenberg, Editor for Elliot Fineman’s National Gun Victim’s Action Council

Hello Sean,
Would you care to appear on our radio show, It’s the Guns, Stupid in upcoming weeks? Each show features pro and anti guests interviewed separately by CEO Elliot Fineman.

You would have 20 minutes or so to explain your positions and have a conversation with Elliot.

The show runs on Thursdays at 6PM EST. Here is a link to recent shows. http://gunvictimsaction.org/bl og/category/its-the-guns-stupi d-radio-show/

We are attaching a description of the show.
Thanks. Please let us know.
Sincerely
NGVAC editors

They attached this press release type thingy,

announceshowSweet! How could I possibly resist? So after consulting with several gun blogger friends to see what they thought, I sent her this.

Dear Martha Rosenberg, NCGVAC Editor,

I have carefully considered your offer to appear on Elliot Fineman’s pejoratively named radio show as well as my possible responses. I have chosen, by way of a response,

“Are you freaking kidding me?”

Elliot Fineman? Why should I, a third tier regional gun blogger, use my tiny amount of fame to prop up the failed attempts of a gun grabbing rich man who is clearly insane? Sure, he’s not Mike Bloomberg rich, but he’s a whole lot wealthier than me. And to judge by his very few appearances on TV, his grasp upon reality is tenuous at best.

I’m sure that he looked like a good bet when Brady Campaign basically went bankrupt and CSGV descended into the Twitter version of the Jerry Springer Show. All the angry anti-gun figureheads from Brady’s farcical board of directors must have loved the idea of someone actually promising action instead of cynically using them to fundraise Paul Helmke’s salary while he did absolutely nothing to advance their agenda. But a couple of TV appearances later and the TV stations stopped calling Elliot, didn’t they? They just don’t forgive a rambling grumpy old man who’s so far gone that he openly attempted to extort Starbucks. It’s one thing to threaten a boycott. It’s quite another to demand a $10 Million cash payout.

The press will happily put lunatics on TV if they can use those lunatics to discredit gun owners. But by and large the press supports your gun grabbing agenda. Why would they wish to discredit their own side with a person who appears one step short of senility? I guess that’s why Elliot is now running his own radio show instead of appearing on TV.

This brings up an important point. Why are you exploiting the poor man? He clearly needs help and instead of making sure he gets it, you take his money and edit… something for him? What’s the matter, didn’t make the cut to join Bloomie’s paid staff? They’re rolling in cash. They claim 10 paid staffers in North Carolina alone! And the chance that they will make any meaningful changes to North Carolina gun laws is somewhere between a snowball’s chance in hell and the chance that I would lower myself to abusing a poor old man on his vanity radio program. Why don’t you get on Bloomie’s payroll. He might be crazy, but he’s at least got it together enough that no one feels sorry for him if you take his money.

I wish you well in any of your future endeavors that don’t include attacking the civil rights of 300 plus million Americans.

Sean D Sorrentino

I think that should prevent any further attempts on their part to return to fame on my back.

Translation: I still want to ban guns, I just don’t want to attack Republicans while I do it

So raise your hands if it surprised you when Michael Bloomberg announced the reconstitution of his anti-gun empire into “Everytown for Gun Safety” that Tom Ridge, former Governor of Pennsylvania and purple state RINO was on the “advisory board.” I was a bit surprised. Not that he was willing to play nice with gun grabbers, but that he was willing to be so open about it. Well it turns out that even Tom’s flexible principles don’t bend far enough to accommodate the pint sized former New York mayor.

He’s playing it off as a “I didn’t know what I was getting into,” sort of situation, but can anyone with half a brain pretend that he didn’t know Mikey is a gun grabber?

“When I signed on as an advisor to Everytown, I looked forward to a thoughtful and provocative discussion about the toll gun violence takes on Americans,” Ridge told The Daily Caller in a statement, through a spokesman.

“After consultation with Everytown, I have decided that I am uncomfortable with their expected electoral work,” Ridge said. “Therefore, we have decided that we will pursue this issue in our separate spheres.”

Let me translate that last paragraph for you.

“I’m cool with the anti-gun efforts. I just object to how Mike is going to spend his billions to campaign against Republicans on the gun issue.”

Ridge is a RINO. He’s owned by the establishment Republican party, so he dares not cross them. Unless he pleases the power brokers in the establishment, he’ll never get another cool government bureaucratic job. But note how it’s not the anti-gun part that bothers him. That couldn’t have been a surprise to him. It’s the “expected electoral work” that he balked at.

So if you’re tempted to sing and dance at Mikey losing Tom Ridge on the first day of the NRA Convention, don’t. Ridge is not on our side. Quitting Bloomie’s anti-gun cabal doesn’t change that.

No doubt he will say it was “consensual”

Pretty creepy

A Gastonia man has been arrested on accusations that he raped a 14-year-old girl.

In two separate incidents.

Suspect

Get a rope.

He wanted to know what time it was

I know that there are still people who wear watches. But 34 of them?

When police arrested a man Friday night at a Kohl’s store on Shenstone Boulevard, they said, he had shoplifted 34 men’s watches and seven pieces of clothing.

What time is it, anyway?

Suspect

Time to put him somewhere where the only appropriate tool for measuring time is a calendar.

Crashing on the getaway

You really shouldn’t run from the cops. You probably can’t drive well enough to get away.

A Durham man led sheriff’s deputies on a chase that ended in a crash and his arrest Thursday evening, according to the Durham County Sheriff’s Office.

They were looking for him because he was selling drugs and guns.

Suspect

He can’t follow the road any better than he can follow the law.

Head butting a pregnant woman

Just a few days ago ThinkProgress (which is in favor of neither thinking nor anything that could actually be called progress) freaked out over the state of South Carolina expanding the self defense rights of pregnant women.

On Thursday, a Senate committee in South Carolina voted to expand the state’s so-called “Stand Your Ground” law to approve the use of deadly force to protect a fetus. The proposal would grant pregnant women protection from prosecution if they were defending their “unborn children,” defined as “the offspring of human beings from conception until birth.”

Maybe they were trying to protect this guy.

According to arrest warrants, (Suspect) head-butted a pregnant woman near Leland on Monday, breaking her nose.

And what sort of person thinks it is a good idea to head butt pregnant women?

Suspect

Exactly the sort of person no one would miss if he caught a bullet.

Collecting quarters for bail money?

I wonder if bail bondsmen take quarters.

A Cary man apparently tested the patience of Wake County magistrates, and one ordered him held on $100,000 bail after being arrested for the second time in two days on charges that he broke into vending machines.

You’d think that a person would keep his nose clean until the most recent arrest had blown over. But no.

Suspect

He doesn’t seem to have that part of the human brain that says “follow the rules.”

He appealed his case to a higher court

There was never any real chance he would get away. He killed both of his parents and during the manhunt he killed a Forest Service officer along with that officer’s K9. They were never going to give up until they caught him and he was never getting out of prison.

The suspect of a double homicide who was killed following a manhunt March 12 in Burke County shot himself in the head as he was confronted by officers and shots were fired, according to new information from the Burke County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.

He’d already made it pretty clear that he had no interest in following the laws of this State. He was a criminal long before he murdered his parents. If fact, they weren’t even the first people he’d ever killed.

Suspect

Good riddance.

Killing in Charlotte

I know this is going to come as a surprise, but there was another murder in Charlotte.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have arrested two men in connection to a murder in north Charlotte that happened Monday afternoon.

So did a Concealed Handgun Permit holder suddenly snap and shoot someone over a parking space dispute?

Suspect 1

Victim

Oh. Nothing to see here. Move along.
