NC COVID numbers 4-30-2020

Our daily numbers show the following changes from yesterday

  • 9,596 new tests
  • 561 new cases
  • 5 fewer hospitalizations
  • 24 more deaths

This repeated large number of deaths over the last two weeks seems to indicate that we’re hitting our “surge.” Of course we’ll not be able to tell for sure until it’s over. It certainly could get worse. We have to hope that it will get better. Like I’ve said before, we aren’t seeing a very high peak, so it is difficult to tell what is “peaking” and what is “statistical noise.”

NC COVID numbers 4-29-2020

Our daily numbers show the following changes from yesterday

  • 5,688 new tests
  • 380 new cases
  • 88 more hospitalizations
  • 12 more deaths

A big jump in hospitalizations, but more of the same everywhere else. Even with more than 5,000 tests completed today we only have 380 new cases. That’s good news. Whether or not that balances out the 88 more people in the hospital, I have no idea.

Our daily numbers show the following changes from yesterday

  • 2,832 new tests
  • 426 new cases
  • 10 fewer hospitalizations
  • 36 more deaths

A very bad night. Our previous worst number of deaths in one day was 34 a week ago on the 21st.

NC COVID numbers 4-27-2020

Link to NC COVID-19 Dashboard – https://www.ncdhhs.gov/divisions/public-health/covid19/covid-19-nc-case-count

Our daily numbers show the following changes from yesterday

  • 2,026 new tests
  • 312 new cases
  • 22 more hospitalizations
  • 7 more deaths

I’m still not seeing any obvious trends. I’m also not seeing a big increase in testing. One would think that we should be seeing more tests run, but so far that’s not been the case.

  • 7,310 new tests
  • 778 new cases
  • 26 fewer hospitalizations
  • 30 more deaths

I didn’t run the numbers yesterday, so this update represents two days, yesterday and today.

NC COVID numbers 4-22-2020

Link to NC COVID-19 Dashboard – https://www.ncdhhs.gov/divisions/public-health/covid19/covid-19-nc-case-count

Our daily numbers show the following changes from yesterday

  • 7,005 new tests
  • 269 new cases
  • 7 more hospitalizations
  • 29 more deaths

An enormous number of new test results, though only 269 new cases. This is the second largest number of deaths in one day, after yesterday’s 34 deaths. I do not think this is declining yet.

NC COVID numbers 4-21-2020

Our daily numbers show the following changes from yesterday

  • 3,847 new tests
  • 187 new cases
  • 54 more hospitalizations
  • 34 more deaths

This is the largest single day loss of life to COVID since this began. The previous worst day was 4 days ago at 21 deaths.

NC COVID numbers 4-20-2020

Link to NC COVID-19 Dashboard – https://www.ncdhhs.gov/divisions/public-health/covid19/covid-19-nc-case-count

Our daily numbers show the following changes from yesterday

  • 712 new tests
  • 271 new cases
  • 92 fewer hospitalizations
  • 7 more deaths

A huge drop in hospitalizations after yesterday’s all time high. But very few tests, probably since yesterday was Sunday and few tests were run after the update at 11AM yesterday.
