In the mail: Zombology, Zombies and the Decline of the West (and Guns) by Brian Anse Patrick

I recently received a reader copy of Brian Anse Patrick’s newest book Zombology: Zombies and the Decline of the West (and Guns), now available on Kindle.

From Amazon:

Dr. Patrick is one of the scholars who gets it about guns. He’s one of the few on our side to be able to wade through the leftist academy and get his PhD before they realized he wasn’t really one of them. It will be interesting to see what he says about the Zombie craze.

In the Mail: Proclaiming Liberty

I’ve received a copy of Proclaiming Liberty from author Philip Mulivor.
I’ll be reading it over the next week or so and letting you know what I think. Proclaiming Liberty is available at Amazon.
It looks like John Richardson got a copy too. He’s already read his, so for a fuller review, click over there.
Cool sample quote from random person I’ve never heard of,
The bearing of arms is the essential medium through which the individual asserts both his social power and his participation in politics as a moral being.
J.G.A. Pocock, 1975
I think I’m going to like this book.

In the mail: The Ten Commandments of Propaganda

I just received my advanced copy of Brian Anse Patrick’s new book The Ten Commandments of Propaganda.
It is currently only available for Kindle, but the hard cover will be available in a month or so.
From University of Toledo’s news page:
And you’ve got to love the photo of Dr. Patrick

The Gadsden Flag alone is probably considered a hate crime on most university campuses, never mind the 105mm leaflet artillery shell.
FTC Notice: Dr. Patrick sent me an advance copy of his new book. No doubt he thought that since I liked his book “Rise of the Anti-Media: In-forming America’s Concealed Weapon Carry Movement,” I would like his latest book.
I bet that he hopes that I like his new book enough to tell all my readers that I like it and that they should buy it. To that end, he gave me this free advanced copy. He didn’t give me any money, nor did he hint that I should review it favorably.
Any FTC members that don’t like arrangements like that are cordially invited to write out their complaints in longhand on cardstock, fold that cardstock until it is all sharp corners and shove those complaints where the sun does not shine.

In the Mail: Revision Sawfly ballistic specs

Today I received a pair of Revision Sawfly ballistic shooting glasses.
I always get a headache when I wear both shooting glasses and earmuffs. Revision sent me this pair to show me that they have solved the problem by making the legs thin enough to take the pressure off my head. They even supplied the corrective lens inserts so now I don’t have to try to wear shooting glasses over regular glasses.

I’ll be giving these ballistic glasses a real workout at the Blogmeet and shooting class. If I can make it 8 hours on the range without searing pain, I’ll be a happy man.
I will sit down and do an interim review as soon as I get a little time. First impressions? They are comfortable, and with my new corrective lenses (Revision will fill your prescription for only $100) I can see great! I took them to the local blacksmith’s “Forge Night” tonight and wore them with my Leight earmuffs and was really happy with them both together.

In the mail: MBI 230gr FMJ from LuckyGunner

I got home today to discover a box of LuckyGunner provided Military Ballistic Industries ammo.
While I was at the LuckyGunner shoot in Knoxville over Memorial Day weekend I asked if they happened to have some MBI ammo that I could try out. Since the shoot was sponsored by Magtech and Sellier & Bellot, they didn’t have any. Instead, they offered to send me some to review.

Look for that review soon.
